| Kripke *finally* reveals the *secret*!!! ****squee**** |
| Distraught Sam sneaks off to Indiana without Dean after Dean tells him what their father said before he died. A psychic tells Sam that she sought him out to warn him of his impending death. |
Yeah, Sam was definitely bloody *and* limp at the climax of the episode... but they were just superficial injuries.... no major damage.
And the ultimate limpness... ie. Sam exploding into bloody bits.. only occurred in Ava's vision and Gordon's twisted mind. Besides that clump of bloody Sam guts that hit the camera lens in the opening sequence was just a bit too much! Most disappointing was the glossing over of Sam's turmoil over the secret. Come on!!! Sam had to be dying inside! I know I was!!! Let it out Sammy!! Just let it all out!!!
If you felt the angst factor and Sam's reaction were slightly dulled down by the producers I can suggest a fic to help fill the void... " Darkness, My Old Friend". Faye Dartmouth always manages to amp up the angst. |

Of course ultimately the episode "TOTALLY ROCKED" because the secret was revealed over a couple of bottles of beer by the side of the road no less!!!
And Kripke totally did not cheat! Okay... you may or may not like what Dean said but we all knew it was coming!!!
Though, I am afraid this makes John officially a *bastard*. Of course, that's just one opinion and the beauty of fandom is many random voices. And who knows what Kripke may still have planned for our Winchesters!
And as I totally loved watching the Secret over and over again I put the file up to encourage many, many missing scenes to be written by all you evil fanfic writers!

The introduction of Scott was well timed and intriguing. I really liked that they chose an actor who paralleled Sam's looks from lanky frame to shaggy hair. (Though he certainly wasn't *hot* like *my* Sammy!) *LOVED* the psychiatrist's reaction to the "fried the neighbor's cat story". (Smart dude! I wouldn't have shaken that hand either.)
And you have to admire the producer's choice of music on this show. Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" certainly set the mood for Scott's revelation and his dark walk to meet his fate. Even if you don't care for the lyrics, you have to admit that music just gets into your head.

I found Ava to be utterly enjoyable! In point of fact, I *loved* her character from the moment Sam caught her stalking him at the motel. (If I could only be so lucky!)
I thought she was funny.. sweet... and just a tiny bit psychotic. (Traits I look for in all my friends.)

And honestly girls if that face asked you for help, could you refuse?
And help she did! Though I would love to read the psychiatrist's notes after her visit. "Pop rocks" as a suicide attempt! KIK!
And her reaction at helping Sam break the law!
AWESOME!
Of course she was just as hyper when Sam revealed his plan to rescue Dean.
"You're walking right into my vision." Any girl that wants to protect Sam has to be good.
Though, I have to ask, was I the only person who thought the girl was a little reluctant leave our boy and drive back to her fiance?
Which begs the question: Did Ava instantly fall for our tall lanky hero or was something more sinister the problem?!?!?!
Okay obviously she had to be somewhat smitten with Sam!!! After all, he was particularly hero-like in this esp *and* he was having a good hair day!!!! *drool*
(Give me a minute folks, I forgot where I was going with this rant...
Oh yeah... I remember...)
Is it more likely that Ava wanted to stay with Sam because she'd been having "nightmares" involving her fiance?
Come on people... this is the kind of thing that *begs for a missing scene*!
|
I thought Ellen nearly redeemed herself in the way she handled the entire . . . .
"let Sam run" vs. "let Dean try and protect Sam"
dilemma . . . . with some damn fine good sense.
Though I don't care for the implication that the boys somehow need her to help them find jobs.
PLEASE!
Our boys don't need help finding trouble! *TROUBLE* has the Impala lo-jacked ! ! !
Besides if they'd just advertise their services... *wink* *wink* *drool* ...their phones would always be filled with text messages of coordinate codes. (Mine is ready to send.)

Really enjoyed seeing Sam show off some of his mad skills this ep! From stealing cars to scaling buildings, our man was on fire in this episode! Proving once and for all that he can do the job. Alone!
Not that any true fan of this show would ever want to see such a thing. Hell, no! After all Sammy may be our boy but Dean is in no way expendable. The brothers are best when they are together!
The collage of yellow eyes hidden in the closet was super creepy!
Though I think I would have really preferred to have Dean uncover that little surprise. I would have loved to have seen his reaction to it.
Actually I would have loved to hear his priceless one-liner when he discovered it!
Now I know Sam took the pill bottle so he'd have the name of the psychiatrist that prescribed the medication, right???
So tell me why he put down the one bottle of pills and pocketed an entirely different bottle of pills?
Could anyone see what was in the bottle???
Did Sam need what was in the bottle??
Is Sam having migraines?? Nightmares?? What??
Dudes, I really need to know!!!! Seriously!!! I'm begging!!!
Would somebody *please* write a missing scene for why Sam took that particular bottle of drugs!!!!
I particularly enjoyed Sam analyzing the bullet casing on the roof. LOL!
He could have said he watched CSI. NO! He immediately goes to "T.J. Hooker". Nice, Sammy!
|
Which brings us to Gordon!!!! What slime!!!!
He may call himself a "hunter" but I call him a .... .....
Well I already used that word to describe John so feel free to fill in the blank as you see fit.
Or you can take a little inspiration from Dean and just give the dude a look that says "Bite me!" or "You're dead!"
Or you could just remind ol' Gordy of what happened the last time you met up. (Classic Dean! Priceless!)
I love how Dean fights Gordon and tells him he knows his brother better than anyone!!! *sigh*
But he can't just let it be a loving statement *not our Dean*! It's just not in him not to be the "wise-ass". So he throws in the "porn comment" for good measure.
And how he knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that Sam won't be fooled by a trip wire.
Yet the way he struggles to free himself from that chair is so moving!!
|
Finally, we get the chance to see Sam try to rescue Dean without fulfilling Ava's vision.
*sigh*
Of course we all know Kripke isn't stupid enough to *really* kill Sam. But I've got to tell you my face probably looked a lot like Dean's in that scene.
*sugh*
If you haven't seen Dean's reaction then you are totally missing out! Feel free to click the pic to watch the scene. That's why we put it there. It's all about spreading the love!
Then there was the fight scene between Gordon and Sam!!!! Oh yeah!!!
I loved the way Sam held the gun on Gordon with that "twitch I dare you" attitude.
(Did you notice the way his pinky kept sticking out straight ... it just accentuated his long fingers. What sexy hands!!!)
Literally cheered when Sam took care of Gordon... *smack*... "It's Sam." Beyond brilliant tie-in with Gordon's first annoying appearance!
You know Sam really enjoyed doing that!
Sam avoids being blown to bits not once but *twice*! He tricks Gordon with a "smoking shoe" and gets the drop on him! And when Gordon struggles, Sam manages to overpower him and take the dude out, despite obvious limpage.
Then Sam sways his way to his brothers side and unties him.
*SUGH*
Yet despite the wonderful scenes that showed how capable our Sam is of taking care of himself... *squee* ... Didn't everyone just cheer when Dean grabbed his brother to check out the damage Gordon inflicted?
Of course Dean immediately heads off to beat Gordy into oblivion!
"I let him live once. I'm not making the same mistake twice."
*Woo-hoo!* Go Dean! Sibling affection totally kicks butt! (Pun most definitely intended.)
But Sam quiets him down with... "Trust me. Gordon's taken care of."
Now that look on Dean's face is priceless. What was he thinking?!?!?!?!?
How did his Sammy "take care" of Gordon?
Was Sam pushed too far this time?
I would *so* kill for a missing scene revolving around Dean's reaction at this very moment!
Of course the show doesn't give us a lot of time to process Sam's statement as the minute the boys get outside they are shot at by Gordon!
As the boys duck for cover Sam's plan is fully revealed with the arrival of the cops! I truly loved seeing the cops used to the boys' advantage.
Though I have to ask... Am I the only one who thought the cops should have been a tiny bit interested in 'what' Gordon was shooting at with such determination??? HELLO?!?! Victim number 2 ???
Dean's reaction to Gordon's arrest was classic!
Sam: "Anonymous tip."
Dean: "You're a fine upstanding citizen Sam."
*evil grin*
I don't know what I love more...
Just seeing Gordon arrested!
... or ...
Dean's reaction to Sam proving Gordon utterly wrong! Sam isn't and could never be a monster!!!
|
If the revelation of John's secret wasn't your favorite scene of the year than chances are high the boys "having a talk" in the Impala was the scene that made you... *SQUEE*.
Dean: "BITCH."
(Sibling translation: I love you Sammy!)
Sam: "JERK." (Sibling translation: I love you too Dean!)
This is the brotherly relationship I turn into the show to see!!!
As actors, both JP and JA rock beyond belief!
I am in utter *LOVE*! (Yes, I said *love* not *lust*. Really! Honest! Is anybody buying this?)

Unfortunately it seems Kripke has proclaimed that no episode this season can end on a high note. ***ARGH***
Worried and upset when he's unable to contact Ava, Sam and Dean rush to check on her.
And what do they find?!?!?!?!
A bloody corpse!!!
Sulfur!!!

Ava's ring discarded on the floor!!!
The look on Sam's face when he finds Ava's ring!!!
***whimper***
Now there are only three possible scenarios our brothers can draw from the evidence found at the scene.
1) Ava left her fiance with instructions on finishing the wedding invitations. When she got home she realized not only had he not touched the wedding invitations, he also forgot to confirm the flower arrangements. Normally being an inconsiderate oaf, would have earned said fiance nothing harsher than a stern glare. Unfortunately for this particular groom-to-be the bride-to-be had just spent the last 24 hours in the company of the perfect male (ie. Sam Winchester).
Seeing and wanting what she knew she couldn't have already had Ava in a bad mood.
But leaving excitement and Sam behind for *this* was more than even a good girl could be expected to bear. So Ava became what she was destined to become...
BRIDE-ZILLA ! ! ! ! !
(Oops! Sorry, wrong network.) Still, her poor fiance never stood a chance!
2) The demon, or one of his soldiers, got to Ava first. There was a struggle. They killed Ava's boyfriend and took Ava. Knowing Sam would look for her Ava dropped her ring as a clue.
3) Ava turned! She killed her fiance like the demon wanted her to do. Then she took off. To where? To do what?
What did happen to Ava???
And if Ava could turn that quickly what does that mean for Sammy?!?!?!
Poor Sammy!!!!!!!
Why... oh why.... can Kripke not give us one stinking, if not happy at least, peaceful ending this season???
It's beyond cruel!!!
I am officially warning the producers, if I get an ulcer I am *so* suing Kripke's butt!!!
I'm certain sending our boys on a nice long hunt, for redneck vampires, demon dogs, the Mothman, or whatever, in the hills of West Virginia would make me feel much better!
Does anyone know what foods I should eat to help hurry that ulcer along?
